Chicken Wings and Sunday things… with UPdate

On the menu today…

Fried Chicken Wings with twice baked stuffed Potatoes Skins.

I love chicken wings and baked potatoes so today I’m combining them for a great Sunday meal. I’ve made wings many many times in the past but today I’m trying out a new recipe. Yesterday I made a marinade consisting of Poultry Seasoning, Paprika, Garlic powder, onion soup mix, salt and pepper and mixed all the seasonings in a large zip lock bag then added heavy cream, mixed everything together. Separate the wingette from the drumette then add wings to marinade making sure to coat each piece. ( I didn’t have any buttermilk or vinegar to make any buttermilk so I used heavy cream, that’s why I’m calling it a NEW recipe). Leave in the fridge overnight.

When you’re ready to cook the wings DO NOT rinse off the marinade…  just transfer wings to a  bag with flour and shake to coat the wings well. By doing this it will give you a crispy crunchy coating on the wings. I love crispy crunchy chicken wings.

Fried Chicken Wings Recipe…

Ingredients for
1 Lb chicken wings
for the Marinade
1 cup Buttermilk
2 T meat tenderizer
2 T Poultry Seasoning
2 T Paprika
2 T Garlic powder
1 pkg onion soup mix
salt and pepper
for the Coating
for Frying
Vegetable Oil for frying
Put Poultry Seasoning, meat tenderizer, Paprika, Garlic powder, onion soup mix, salt and pepper in a large zip lock bag and mix all together. Then add heavy cream and mix everything together.
Separate the wingette from the drumette and add wings to marinade making sure to coat each piece.
Let set over night in fridge OR at least 2 hours.
When ready to cook, preheat oil to 350*
DO NOT RINSE off the marinade
Just transfer wings to a little bag of flour shake to coat well
Fry in a large pot or iron skillet with hot oil until golden brown.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
**NOTE** Do Not OVER crowd wings while cooking, you want them to be crispy and NOT stick together.
For the Twice Baked Stuffed Potato
Just polk a few holes in 2 med sized potatoes and microwave them for 8 minutes or until tender. Let cool to the touch, Cut in half and scoop the potato out of the skin. Mix together the potato with sour cream and spoon back into the skin. Top with shredded cheese and put back in the microwave to melt then add bacon bites and chopped green onions. YUMMY… is all I can say!

Breaking UPDATE Kids!!!!

Just tested out my experiment, I mean new recipe. And I’m not happy with it. I would definitely leave out the onion soup mix. Maybe just use 1 or 2 T spoons of onion powder instead.  ???   I will keep tweaking this recipe until I get just the right flavor I’m looking for… Stay tuned! Later Gator. ♥
